About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Director to join our team at the Alberta Motor Association. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to our finance team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality financial planning and analysis services.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies that align with our business objectives, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to identify business opportunities and develop financial plans to support growth initiatives.
  • Lead the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to business leaders on financial matters, including financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Manage and oversee the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, lenders, and regulatory bodies.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring the long-term sustainability of our business.
  • Lead business process improvement initiatives, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance financial operations.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of finance team members.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in Business or a related field.
  • CPA designation or equivalent.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a financial planning and analysis role, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a high-performing team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and develop strategic recommendations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
