We are seeking a highly skilled Produce Department Supervisor to join our team at Freshco. As a key member of our produce team, you will be responsible for supervising staff, assigning sales workers to duties, and ensuring the smooth operation of our produce department.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate the activities of produce staff, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
- Assign sales workers to duties, ensuring that all tasks are completed to a high standard.
- Hire and train new staff members, or arrange for their training, to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
- Establish and maintain work schedules, ensuring that all staff are aware of their duties and responsibilities.
- Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising, and personnel matters, providing valuable insights to management.
- Resolve issues that may arise, including customer complaints, supply shortages, and other operational challenges.
- Organize and maintain inventory, ensuring that all produce is stored and displayed in a safe and appealing manner.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of office and volunteer staff, ensuring that all tasks are completed to a high standard.
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a supervisory or management role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, customers, and management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Combination of sitting, standing, and walking, with the ability to handle heavy loads when necessary.
