Lead Marketing Strategist

Overview:
The Electricity Distributors Association (EDA) serves as the representative body for Ontario's local electricity distributors, encompassing both public and private entities that ensure the safe and reliable delivery of electricity to residential, commercial, and institutional clients throughout Ontario.
Committed to fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), the EDA is seeking a dynamic individual for the role of Lead Marketing Strategist. This position operates within a vibrant and fast-paced environment, reporting directly to the Vice President of Member Relations, Communications, and Marketing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Marketing & Communications: Formulate and implement comprehensive marketing and communication strategies that align with the organization's objectives.
- Content Development: Generate engaging internal and external communications, including website content, annual publications, articles, executive speeches, and presentations.
- Policy Communication: Translate complex public policies into accessible content for a wider audience.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Partner with various departments and the executive team to incorporate communication requirements into project plans and the corporate calendar.
- Social Media Management: Collaborate with the Policy, Government & Corporate Affairs (PGCA) team to design and oversee social media strategies that support advocacy initiatives across platforms.
Digital Communication Oversight:
Manage the production and dissemination of daily media scans, newsletters, and all other association publications. Ensure the corporate website is visually appealing, user-friendly, and regularly updated.
- Work alongside the PGCA team to devise and execute media relations strategies that highlight industry policies and public affairs.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and guide the work of specialists within the team.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators and metrics diligently.
- Oversee contracts and manage relationships with external consultants and service providers.
Qualifications:
- A degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate communications.
- 3-5 years of managerial experience with a proven ability to inspire and mentor team members.
- Experience in association management and familiarity with the electricity sector and provincial government is advantageous.
- Proficient in digital tools and platforms, including social media, content management systems, and analytics tools.
- Demonstrated experience working with senior executives and board members.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a focus on error-free communication.
- Strong project management capabilities, ensuring timely and budget-conscious completion of communication initiatives.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and various graphic design software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
