Culinary Specialist

Nikko Sushi is seeking a dedicated Culinary Specialist to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for preparing authentic Japanese dishes, particularly sushi, and will be responsible for maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Meal Preparation: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes, ensuring all food is prepared to the highest standards.
- Food Safety: Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Kitchen Management: Oversee kitchen operations, including supervising kitchen staff and maintaining inventory records.
- Staff Training: Train kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, and proper food handling.
- Quality Control: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and compliance with health regulations.
- Meat Preparation: Cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat as required.
The position is based in a fast-paced restaurant setting, requiring attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure. Candidates should be prepared for standing for extended periods and handling heavy loads.
Qualifications- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Transportation: Own transportation is required.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong client focus, dependability, flexibility, and initiative. Being organized and a reliable team player is essential.
Additional Information- Work Hours: 35 to 44 hours per week.
