Laboratory Assistant

As a key member of our operations, you will play a vital role in supporting laboratory functions and ensuring the smooth processing of client orders.

Position Overview

This role involves assisting with the management of client bottle requests and facilitating the organization of returned samples for processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide essential support to laboratory operations, which may include client communication, sample processing, and logistics;
  • Prioritize tasks based on client needs;
  • Uphold a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols;
  • Collaborate effectively within a team setting;
  • Prepare samples for dispatch and accurately complete shipping documentation;
  • Enter data into laboratory information management systems;
  • Participate in routine cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a tidy workspace;
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as directed by supervisors.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proficient in English communication skills (listening, speaking, writing, and reading);
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and comfortable with technology;
  • Capable of performing repetitive tasks with precision in a fast-paced environment;
  • Highly organized with a strong ability to meet deadlines;
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively;
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic and a willingness to take on diverse tasks;
  • Committed to delivering excellent service with a client-oriented mindset.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred;
  • Experience in a warehouse or fast-paced setting is advantageous;
  • Customer service experience is beneficial;
  • Valid provincial Class 5 driver's license;
  • Familiarity with basic laboratory safety and high school science principles is a plus.
