Job Title: Senior Mechanical Electrical Systems Estimator

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Electrical Systems Estimator to join our team at Turner & Townsend. As a key member of our Infrastructure team, you will be responsible for producing accurate and detailed cost estimates for major infrastructure construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of M&E specifications, Single-Line Drawings, and Schematic Drawings.
  2. Perform sense checks on quantity take-offs and ensure accuracy in cost estimates.
  3. Collaborate with project clients, key stakeholders, contractors, and consultants to ensure expectations are managed adequately and clients' goals are achieved.
  4. Develop, validate, and control Target Price within a collaborative environment.
  5. Provide expert advice on capital and operational expenditure (OPEX) elements of the project.
  6. Produce cost benchmarks for validation and target-setting on major infrastructure projects.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Proficient in reading and understanding M&E specifications, Single-Line Drawings, and Schematic Drawings.
  • Ability to perform sense checks on quantity take-offs.
  • Experience with contacting suppliers and subcontractors to obtain current market prices for materials, equipment, and systems.
  • Quantity Surveying / Civil Engineering / Construction Management Degree and/or M&E Certification or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in cost estimating positions across pre-contract/post-contract phases of infrastructure projects.
  • Membership of professional organisations is a bonus (CIQS / RICS / AACE).
