Lead Geotechnical Field Supervisor

JLP Services Inc. is in search of a skilled Geotechnical Field Supervisor to join our team. We specialize in a comprehensive array of Geotechnical Services, which encompass: Materials Testing and Inspection, Instrumentation and Monitoring, Shoring Excavation and Monitoring, and Foundation Recommendations.

This role necessitates a minimum of 8 to 10 years of relevant experience within the southwestern Ontario region.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct inspections, material testing, and sampling for diverse geotechnical and geo-environmental consulting projects, ranging from small to large earthwork initiatives. Responsibilities include geotechnical and environmental sampling, soil analysis, compaction testing utilizing a nuclear density gauge, subgrade assessments, rebar evaluations, concrete examinations, laboratory testing, and construction oversight. The Senior Geotechnical Supervisor will also be responsible for training and leading a team of field technicians.

Required Qualifications:

  • A diploma in Civil Engineering, ideally with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • CCIL Certifications in concrete are mandatory.

Essential Skills:

  • Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities, including proficiency in technical writing.
  • A solid understanding of materials testing and inspection, road reconstruction, rebar evaluation, and general construction methodologies.

Educational Background:

  • A diploma or degree in Environmental Science or Civil Engineering is preferred.
