Principal Geotechnical Field Manager

JLP Services Inc. is actively searching for a skilled Geotechnical Field Supervisor to join our team. Our company specializes in a comprehensive range of Geotechnical Services, which encompass: Materials Testing and Inspection, Instrumentation and Monitoring, Shoring Excavation and Monitoring, as well as Foundation Recommendations.
This role necessitates a minimum of 8 to 10 years of relevant experience within the southwestern Ontario region.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct inspections, material testing, and sampling for diverse geotechnical and geo-environmental consulting projects, including both small and large earthwork initiatives. The position involves geotechnical and environmental sampling, soil testing, compaction testing utilizing a nuclear density gauge, subgrade inspections, rebar inspections, concrete testing, laboratory testing, and construction oversight. Furthermore, the Senior Geotechnical Supervisor will be responsible for training and leading a team of field technicians.
Required Qualifications:
- Diploma in Civil Engineering, ideally with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering.
- CCIL Certifications in concrete are mandatory.
Essential Skills:
- Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including proficiency in technical writing.
- Comprehensive understanding of materials testing and inspection, road reconstruction, rebar inspection, and general construction methodologies.
Education and Experience:
- Diploma or degree in Environmental Science or Civil Engineering.
