Lead Engineer, Identity and Access Solutions

We are on the lookout for a Lead Engineer to join our Identity and Access Management Engineering team.
In this pivotal role, you will influence the technical decision-making and architecture of our e-commerce platform, focusing on critical components such as our sign-up and login interfaces, as well as our OAuth workflows. Collaborating with fellow technical leads and engineers on the product team, you will tackle the challenges of a rapidly expanding platform that faces increasing demands daily.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee our IAM Engineering team, fostering a collaborative environment among full-stack engineers.
- Act as the representative for IAM-related initiatives within the organization.
- Lead and develop your team of developers, providing guidance and support.
- Collaborate with the Director of Engineering, Security, and Legal to maintain a clear quarterly roadmap of prioritized and scoped projects.
- Design and architect projects, facilitating discussions and making informed decisions.
- Ensure alignment with company objectives while upholding the technical integrity and security of our applications.
- Contribute to the codebase and work alongside engineers to successfully complete projects.
- Engage with other Technical Leaders across product engineering, infrastructure, security, and more.
Qualifications:
- A commitment to fostering team growth and creating a psychologically safe environment.
- Proven experience leading a full-stack software development team.
- A strong interest in IAM and Security, staying informed about evolving threats, technologies, and solutions.
- Familiarity with directory services (e.g., Devise, Active Directory, LDAP), Single Sign-On (SSO) technologies, multi-factor authentication (MFA) solutions, and role-based access control (RBAC).
- A passion for promoting robust engineering practices and processes.
- Experience with high-scale web applications.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development using a modern full technology stack, with a preference for Ruby, Rails, React, JavaScript, GraphQL, and Apollo.
