Your Responsibilities

As a Co-op Staff Accountant, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills while assisting senior staff and partners on various projects. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting audit tasks at a junior level, including the examination of financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Setting up and managing accounting systems while preparing financial reports.
  • Reviewing accounting records and generating financial statements.
  • Developing and maintaining internal control procedures and cost-saving measures.
  • Preparing income tax returns based on accounting records.
  • Analyzing financial statements and providing business and tax advice.
  • Participating in special projects as assigned by senior staff.
  • Engaging in self-development activities aligned with the firm's competency model.
  • Building strong relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Contributing positively to team dynamics and supporting new initiatives.

Who We Are Looking For

  • A candidate pursuing a degree in business or accounting (e.g., BBA, BCOMM, CA, CGA, or CMA).
  • Entry-level technical knowledge and skills.
  • Familiarity with Caseware/Caseview and TaxPrep is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • A collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
  • Attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • A desire to learn and grow within the accounting profession.
