POSITION OVERVIEW
The Capital Projects Coordinator plays a pivotal role in overseeing project administration and coordination tasks essential for the development and management of various capital planning, enhancement, asset management, project support services, and investment initiatives throughout the Province. This position is instrumental in contributing to the formulation and execution of timelines, communication strategies, and implementation frameworks. The Coordinator conducts preliminary assessments of budgetary, scope, and resource necessities while monitoring performance and progress against set timelines. This role necessitates collaboration and communication with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to gather the necessary information and documentation to ensure project success.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
A diploma in business administration, project management, or a related field, including coursework in project coordination. Significant progressive experience in project or program coordination. Experience in an administrative or coordination role related to finance, housing, construction, or the real estate sector. Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience deemed acceptable by the employer.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices associated with project management processes and business administration. Proficient understanding of database management, asset planning applications, and business tools, templates, and processes that support project management functions. Familiarity with building construction and repair requirements. Working knowledge of legal agreements and instruments. Ability to learn and navigate internal business enterprise applications. Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment, including under the guidance of multiple supervisors. Proficient in planning and managing small projects or segments of larger projects, delegating tasks to team members, and leading projects to successful outcomes. Strong ownership of tasks, driving them to completion. Ability to thrive under pressure while meeting deadlines and adapting to changing priorities, addressing diverse and shifting challenges without compromising work quality. Competence in delivering presentations to larger audiences. Ability to exercise tact, diplomacy, and sound judgment when engaging with a wide range of stakeholders. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship management skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, conceptual thinking, planning, organization, and project leadership abilities. Proficient in the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, Project, and Visio).
