About the Opportunity

Flocor Inc., a subsidiary of Deschenes Group Inc., is a leader in the industrial pipe, valve, and fitting distribution industry. We are seeking a skilled Outside Sales Representative to join our team in Quebec City, QC. The successful candidate will be responsible for maximizing sales within the region, generating new and existing accounts, and developing strong relationships with customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a strong customer base through regular visits, industry events, and effective communication
  • Resolve customer issues and problems by collaborating with internal teams
  • Implement follow-up strategies for specific projects and ongoing customer relationships
  • Meet and exceed sales targets while providing accurate sales forecasting
  • Communicate with customers to provide or coordinate customer service, quotes, and dispute resolution
  • Develop and service existing and new customers to gain and sustain long-term relationships
  • Prepare sales forecasts for the next selling year and review sales results with the Regional Manager
  • Identify, target, and acquire new customer accounts
  • Monitor client creditworthiness and report irregularities to the credit department and Regional Manager
  • Participate in special sales functions and trade shows as required

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years' experience in customer service/sales capacity in a related industry
  • Proven business development skills
  • College Diploma in Sales/Marketing, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering Technologist (CET), or a related discipline
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to read blueprints is an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal and negotiations/problem-solving skills
  • High degree of accuracy with attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain high-level confidentiality
  • Ability to grasp and communicate the technical aspects of the company's products
  • Possess an intermediate level of computer competency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and web-based applications
  • Good mathematical skills
  • Self-starter, well-organized with the ability to multi-task and execute a plan of action
  • Must be able to self-manage and prioritize goals with minimal supervision
  • Available to travel on a daily basis, some overnight travel as required
  • Possess a valid Class 5 driver's license and maintain a clean driving record
