About the Role:

As a Technical Safety Engineer at 09 Irving Oil Limited, you will play a critical role in understanding and managing the company-wide operational risk management process. Your responsibilities will include facilitating risk assessments, supporting operational areas in utilizing the company's risk matrix, and managing complex tasks and functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coach and support engineers and operational teams in risk assessment and risk matrix utilization.
  • Facilitate discussions for mitigation plan development and risk assessment process audits.
  • Use risk assessment software to produce technical reports and record recommendations.
  • Manage various projects from conception to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of identified controls and mitigations.
  • Work with Senior Leaders, Directors, and Managers to minimize risk.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Safety and Risk Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 8-12 years of experience in engineering, organizational experience, and leadership.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments and using risk matrices is essential.
  • PEng (Professional Engineer) designation is required.
