About the Role:

The Winnipeg Indigenous Friendship Centre Inc. is seeking a skilled Communications Manager to promote and protect our brand and reputation through various communications channels. This is a permanent, full-time position that requires a strong understanding of Indigenous values and community issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to build trust within our community and create brand awareness.
  • Manage and protect our brand consistency, including creating templates for promotional materials and procuring marketing materials.
  • Create press releases, press kits, newsletters, and other marketing materials.
  • Plan and manage social media campaigns for all Winnipeg Indigenous Friendship Centre Inc. social platforms.
  • Oversee and support communications staff and consultants.
  • Perform other communications and administrative tasks as required.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of Indigenous values and community issues.
  • Degree or diploma in Communications, Journalism, PR, or related discipline.
  • Strong working knowledge of communication principles and practices.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the Communications related field.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated success with social media tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, WordPress, Adobe CC, and other public relation tools.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in desktop publishing, document layout, and basic graphic design an asset.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and execute flawlessly on projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Subject to Criminal/Prior Contact and Child Abuse Registry checks.
