About the Role:

The Winnipeg Indigenous Friendship Centre Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Communications Manager to join our team. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for promoting and protecting our brand and reputation through multiple communications channels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to build trust within our community and create brand awareness for a diverse audience.
  • Manage and protect our brand and consistency, including developing templates for promotional materials and procurement of marketing materials.
  • Create press releases, press kits, newsletters, and related marketing materials to promote our services and programs.
  • Plan and manage social media campaigns to engage with our audience and promote our brand.
  • Oversee and support communications staff and consultants to ensure effective communication across all channels.
  • Perform other communications and administrative tasks as required to support the success of our organization.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of Indigenous values and community issues.
  • Degree or diploma in Communications, Journalism, PR, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the Communications field.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated success with social media tools and marketing campaigns.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, WordPress, Adobe CC, and other public relation tools.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in desktop publishing, document layout, and basic graphic design and layout an asset.
  • Ability to take high-quality photographs and produce videos and podcasts an asset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
