Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Public Health Specialist. This role will play a critical part in the prevention and management of Sexually Transmitted and Blood Borne Infections (STBBIs) within the Winnipeg Health Region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to prevent and manage STBBIs in high-risk populations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, community organizations, and other stakeholders to promote harm reduction practices and improve health outcomes.
  • Provide education and training to healthcare professionals and community members on STBBI prevention and management.
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform public health policy and programming related to STBBIs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners to promote collaboration and coordination of services.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as public health, nursing, or epidemiology.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in public health, with a focus on STBBI prevention and management.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective public health programs and policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and develop evidence-based recommendations.
Working Conditions

This role will require working in a fast-paced environment, with frequent travel to community sites and meetings with stakeholders. The successful candidate will be required to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and communication.
