Position: Customer Relations Specialist
Salary Range: $44,396.12 to $60,065.34
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
Roles Available: Two full-time positions - one permanent and one 6-month term.
As a Customer Relations Specialist (CRS) at MITT, you will serve as the primary point of contact for prospective and current students, as well as the general public. It is essential for CRSs to possess a comprehensive understanding of all MITT programs, services, and departmental functions, alongside familiarity with MITT's policies and procedures. Additionally, CRSs must adhere to privacy legislation guidelines to effectively manage student inquiries.
CRSs work collaboratively with staff across various departments, fostering positive and respectful relationships throughout the institution. This role supports key areas such as the Registrar's Office, Finance, Academic, Recruitment, and Student Services, ensuring inquiries are triaged or redirected to the appropriate departments as necessary. The goal is to provide swift resolutions to inquiries while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
- Maintain a positive and approachable demeanor, effectively engaging with individuals.
- Act as the initial reception point for students, clients, guests, and the public.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns through various communication channels.
- Provide foundational information regarding MITT programs, admissions, tuition, and administrative tasks.
- Utilize effective communication skills to gather accurate information for sound recommendations.
- Employ verbal de-escalation techniques to manage challenging interactions, consulting with supervisors as needed.
- Demonstrate professionalism in all external communications.
- Work independently while also contributing to team objectives.
- Commit to continuous learning and improvement.
- Respect diversity and promote an inclusive workplace culture.
Financial Transactions:
- Respond to inquiries related to student accounts while ensuring confidentiality.
- Process various payments, including tuition and fees, while adhering to internal policies.
- Reconcile cashier tills and prepare daily balancing reports.
- Utilize multiple platforms for payment processing.
- Assist in training fellow CRS team members on payment procedures.
Registrar's Office Support:
- Provide clerical support for student records and transcript processing.
- Manage distribution of graduation packages and provide related information.
- Update the admissions system with relevant applicant information.
Recruitment Support:
- Serve as a welcoming resource for MITT visitors.
- Assist prospective students with information on admissions and programs.
Administrative Support:
- Assist students with technical issues related to online platforms.
- Manage student identification processes and related documentation.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in business administration or a related field is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in a customer service environment is an asset.
Conditions of Employment:
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Successful completion of a Criminal Record check.
