Electrical Engineer

Maritime Electric Company, Limited is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join their team. As a key member of the engineering department, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning, constructing, and managing engineering projects aimed at improving the reliability of the transmission and distribution system.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and experience in design, installation, and integration of intelligent electronic devices, telecommunications systems, and SCADA. They will also possess excellent organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:
- Participate in the design, installation, and integration of intelligent electronic devices, telecommunications systems, and SCADA.
- Ensure that the infrastructure is installed, maintained, and operated using accepted industry standards.
- Participate in protection coordination, control, and commissioning on the transmission and distribution system.
- Provide engineering design and construction for new substations or upgrades to existing substations.
- Provide technical asset support to the Technical Services maintenance.
- Coordinate and supervise projects, prepare project cost estimates, contract preparation, design and implementation, and project management.
- Participate in distribution planning.
- Participate in the development of Maritime Electric's standards.
- Participate in the integration of wind and solar to Maritime Electric's infrastructure.
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and be eligible for registration with Engineers PEI. A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record are also required.
This position offers a competitive and comprehensive compensation and benefits package. The salary range is $70,000 - $90,000 per annum.
