Job Opportunity: Cost Controls Coordinator

Aecon, a leading market player with a self-perform competitive advantage, is seeking a skilled Cost Controls Coordinator to join our Toronto head office team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain project cost/control systems
  • Support proposal and estimating efforts to ensure continuity between project estimates and project baseline
  • Assist in developing detailed, resource-loaded schedules
  • Convert project bids to setting up the complete, accurate project baseline (budget, schedule)
  • Set up project accounting systems (cost codes, job cost processing procedures, project rules of credit)
  • Ensure contract conditions (invoicing, reporting, change management, etc.) are applied and fulfilled for project set-up, tracking, and closeout
  • Monitor project performance and implement project control systems
  • Generate project status reports for internal management and customers
  • Review and analyze project schedule and cost reports, suggesting corrective actions to maintain the project within anticipated cost and schedule
  • Implement change management procedures ensuring compliance with contract conditions and Aecon's standards
Requirements:
  • 1-2+ years of related project controls construction experience
  • College and/or University degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Organizational skills to handle multiple tasks in a high-pressure work site environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and employees
  • Willingness for continuous learning and advancement of technical knowledge
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to travel to projects
  • Valid G driver's license and access to a vehicle
