Job Opportunity: Cost Controls Coordinator

Aecon, a leading market player with a self-perform competitive advantage, is seeking a skilled Cost Controls Coordinator to join our team in Toronto. As a key member of our project controls team, you will provide critical support to project managers and teams, ensuring the successful execution of projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain project cost and control systems
  • Support proposal and estimating efforts to ensure project estimates align with project baselines
  • Assist in developing detailed, resource-loaded schedules
  • Help convert project bids to project baselines, ensuring accurate budget and schedule setup
  • Set up project accounting systems, including cost codes and job cost processing procedures
  • Ensure contract conditions are applied and fulfilled for project setup, tracking, and closeout
  • Monitor project performance and implement project control systems
  • Generate project status reports for internal management and customers
  • Review and analyze project schedules and cost reports, suggesting corrective actions to maintain projects within budget and schedule
  • Implement change management procedures, ensuring compliance with contract conditions and Aecon standards
Requirements:
  • 1-2+ years of related project controls construction experience
  • College and/or University degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Organizational skills to handle multiple tasks in a high-pressure work environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and employees
  • Willingness for continuous learning and advancement of technical knowledge
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to travel to projects
  • Valid G driver's license and access to a vehicle
