About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Concrete Finisher to join our team at GMR Landscaping Inc. as a key member of our construction crew.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement to ensure a smooth finish.
  • Operate power vibrators to compact concrete and achieve the desired density.
  • Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools, such as trowels and floaters.
  • Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills, and other fixtures to secure and stabilize concrete structures.
  • Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces and prevent damage.
  • Waterproof, damp proof, and restore surfaces to ensure durability and longevity.
  • Repair, resurface, and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures to maintain quality and safety.
  • Estimate costs and materials to ensure accurate budgeting and planning.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements and execute tasks effectively.
Requirements
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in the concrete finishing industry.
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Basic security clearance.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, handling heavy loads and standing for extended periods.
  • Attention to detail and sound discrimination to ensure quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
Working Conditions
  • Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with varying weather conditions.
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, and in confined spaces.
  • Exposure to dust, noise, and other environmental hazards.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
