Special Projects Structural Engineer

Entuitive is seeking a highly motivated and entrepreneurial Senior Structural Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Special Projects group, you will work on small to medium projects, collaborating with our business development team and other special projects teams to drive growth and innovation.

What is Special Projects?

The Special Projects teams at Entuitive focus on small to medium projects that require a high degree of complexity and skill. Our work involves adding to or modifying existing buildings, working with design teams to provide structural design for unique bespoke requirements, and understanding and working with antiquated structural systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Attend client meetings from initial conception to project completion
  • Develop internal project budgets and generate fee proposals
  • Review in-progress works on construction sites for compliance to issued documents
  • Attend construction progress meetings to provide consultation and updates to the project team
  • Pursue special projects growth opportunities by attending client meetings, events, and business development opportunities
  • Be responsible for the financial performance of projects, including monitoring internal project costs and reviewing monthly invoicing
  • Mentor and train junior staff in technical aspects of structural design and practical aspects of project delivery
Requirements:
  • A degree in civil engineering with a focus on structural engineering
  • Experience in business development and writing proposals
  • Experience in structural design and/or construction engineering for buildings
  • Working knowledge of construction materials and products used in building construction, with a focus on concrete, steel, wood, and masonry as well as historical materials and structural systems
  • Working knowledge and ability to use various programs such as SAP, SAFE, Woodworks, Bluebeam, Hilti Profis
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
