Opportunity Overview

Entuitive is seeking a highly motivated and entrepreneurial Senior Structural Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our structural practice, you will work on small and medium projects, assisting in maintaining a high level of service and growing our Special Projects team in Ottawa.

Special Projects

Our Special Projects teams focus on small to medium projects of varying degrees of complexity, requiring skills that span many areas of structural engineering. You will work closely with the business development team and other special projects teams to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver special projects work, including attending client meetings, developing project budgets, reviewing existing structures, and working with architects and consultants to prepare detailed structural designs.
  • Pursue special projects growth opportunities by attracting new clients, attending business development initiatives, and researching and responding to proposal requests.
  • Be responsible for the financial performance of projects, monitoring internal project costs, and reviewing monthly invoicing to ensure budgets are maintained.
  • Mentor and train junior staff in technical aspects of structural design and practical aspects of project delivery.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in civil engineering with a focus on structural engineering.
  • 7+ years of industry-related experience.
  • P.Eng. designation required.
  • Experience in business development and writing proposals.
  • Experience in structural design and/or construction engineering for buildings.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work with people at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and deliverables on an ongoing basis.
  • Working knowledge of construction materials and products used in building construction.
