About the Role
Kunuwanimano Child and Family Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Protection Worker to join our team. As a Child Protection Worker, you will be responsible for providing fair, respectful, and culturally relevant services to First Nations children and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement service plans to support children and families in need.
- Conduct investigations and assessments to identify and address child abuse and neglect.
- Provide ongoing support and advocacy for children and families, including connecting them with community resources and services.
- Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to develop and implement culturally sensitive programs and services.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of departmental and team service objectives and targets.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous experience working with First Nations children and families, or equivalent experience in social services.
- Valid Ontario driver's license and willingness to travel.
- Ability to speak an Indigenous language is considered an asset.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
