About the Role
This position is responsible for liaising with the Intake Team to receive 12-hour responses and high-risk investigations. The successful candidate will conduct joint investigations and home visits with police, ensuring the safety of children through forensic interviewing.
Key Responsibilities
- Interview and assess parties involved, including referral sources, children, and extended families.
- Complete investigations and assessments to formulate safety, treatment, and service plans for children and families.
- Link families to agencies providing support for social, emotional, psychological, and physical well-being.
- Consult with community partners to develop extended family and Alternative Care placements.
- Document and coordinate requirements for court hearings.
- Appear as a witness in child welfare, criminal, or family court.
Requirements
- BSW or MSW with 5 years of Child Welfare experience, including supervisory experience.
- Extensive forensic experience and ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
- Experience working with First Nations families and communities.
- Knowledge of current legislation impacting Indigenous families and children.
