Job Summary

An Anatomic Pathologist is required to join our team at Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) in Calgary, Alberta. The successful candidate will work at the Foothills Medical Centre (FMC) and will be responsible for delivering high-quality pathology services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the highest possible standards of practice, including prompt delivery of services to meet established key performance indicators and provincial metrics.
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement programs.
  • Actively participate in undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate medical teaching.
Requirements
  • MD degree and eligibility for licensure in the Province of Alberta.
  • Certification in Anatomic Pathology or General Pathology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology.
  • Subspecialty Fellowship training and/or Certification in Breast Pathology, Gynecological, or Gastrointestinal & Liver Pathology.
  • Effective communication skills, quality assurance, operational efficiency, and appropriateness of care.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, changing environment that allows for delivery of quality service.
  • Ability to balance service and quality imperative in a resource-sensitive environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, building trust in working relationships, and being an overall team player.
