Position Summary

MYC is on the lookout for a full-time Director for the Terra Nova Youth Centre situated in the vibrant West Island area. This facility features a gymnasium, an art studio, and a café. The Director will be responsible for leading and nurturing a dedicated team of staff and volunteers. This role includes conducting community evaluations to identify and assess local needs, enabling the development and execution of relevant programs that engage the community effectively. The Director will oversee all activities and programming at the centre.

The Director will also be tasked with promoting the organization's mission within the community, fostering partnerships with local churches, businesses, and organizations that share similar values. This role necessitates the ability to secure funding to support operational costs and salary. A robust network of business and ministry leaders is available to provide support for the Centre.

Requirements

  1. A dedicated follower of Jesus, with a passion for guiding young people towards becoming lifelong disciples. A degree or specialized training in youth work, or relevant experience is preferred.
  2. Exhibits initiative and possesses strong organizational skills, including effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  3. Creative, adventurous, dependable, and autonomous, with demonstrated leadership capabilities. Exhibits sound judgment and discernment.
  4. Bilingual proficiency is required.
