Montreal Youth for Christ (MYC) envisions a transformative impact on the youth of Quebec through the principles of faith and community engagement. MYC offers tailored community programs aimed at inspiring, empowering, and equipping young individuals to realize their full potential.
Position Summary
MYC is on the lookout for a full-time Director for the Terra Nova Youth Centre situated in the vibrant West Island area. This facility features a gymnasium, an art studio, and a café. The Director will be responsible for leading and nurturing a dedicated team of staff and volunteers. The role involves conducting community assessments to identify and evaluate local needs, which will inform the development and implementation of relevant programs.
The Director will actively promote the mission within the community, forging partnerships with local churches, businesses, and organizations that share similar values. This position entails the responsibility of securing necessary funding to support operational costs and salary. A robust network of business and ministry leaders is available to provide support for the Centre.
Key Qualifications
- A dedicated follower of Jesus, passionate about guiding young individuals towards becoming lifelong disciples. A degree or relevant experience in youth work is preferred.
- Exhibits initiative and possesses strong organizational capabilities, including effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Creative, adventurous, dependable, and autonomous, with proven leadership qualities. Displays wisdom and discernment in decision-making.
- Bilingual proficiency is required.
