This role reports to the Director of Pharmacy Operations and is accountable for the accurate and timely receipt, preparation, and delivery of prescriptions. You will ensure sufficient inventory levels to meet patient needs and provide counsel with appropriate documentation to all patients. Foster friendly, positive, and proactive interactions with all internal and external customers while creating awareness and educating customers through public relations initiatives. Additionally, oversee and guide staff, with responsibility for the financial and operational success of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and provide direction to team members
• Responsible for recruiting and managing staff performance
• Accountable for the financial and operational success of the pharmacy department
• Prepare, dispense, and manage medications accurately and promptly for patients
• Ensure adequate inventory levels of medications and over-the-counter supplements to meet patient needs
• Counsel patients regarding new and additional medications with a friendly, positive, and proactive approach
• Create awareness and educate customers through public health initiatives and clinics
• Provide timely and effective resolutions to patient needs and physician requests/issues
• Analyze and review budgeted sales and net contributions
• Identify and report sales opportunities both internally and externally
• Monitor and control costs at all levels within the pharmacy department

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and a valid Class A Pharmacist license are essential
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a retail pharmacy environment
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven people management skills with the ability to motivate and coach others
• Excellent customer service skills and a strong sense of professionalism
• Demonstrated ability to grow the business using community-based marketing strategies
• Strong problem-solving skills, including experience in formulating and executing action plans
• Proficient personal computing skills, with knowledge of pharmacy management systems being a definite asset
