Role Overview

As a Project Manager, you will spearhead teams in executing intricate capital projects across various municipalities, regional districts, and Indigenous communities.

Operating primarily within the British Columbia Business Unit, you will collaborate with a team of specialists to manage substantial capital building and infrastructure initiatives. Your extensive experience in leading and delivering diverse infrastructure projects will be invaluable. You will be recognized as a trusted advisor, forging strong, enduring relationships with senior leaders and decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee large-scale programs and capital projects, which may vary in complexity and scope.
  • Establish robust client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact to align with their strategic objectives.
  • Ensure that client expectations are consistently met or surpassed, representing their best interests in contractual and technical matters.
  • Accountable for the financial outcomes of projects, ensuring adherence to high standards of delivery as per our quality management protocols.
  • Introduce innovative solutions and ideas to the project team, addressing complex challenges effectively.
  • Facilitate early project planning and governance to enhance certainty in capital projects.
  • Provide strategic counsel to community leaders, including elected officials, on various intricate organizational matters.
  • Exhibit leadership qualities while collaborating with clients, colleagues, and other project stakeholders.
  • Mentor and support intermediate and junior team members, fostering their professional growth.
  • Contribute to business development by leading initiatives and crafting successful proposals.
Qualifications
  • A proven history of successfully managing building and/or infrastructure projects from preconstruction to completion is highly advantageous.
  • At least 7 years of project management experience, with a minimum of five years in Canada. Experience as an Owner's representative is beneficial.
  • Experience across all phases of the project lifecycle, from inception to close-out.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering large, high-profile projects as the lead Project Manager, particularly in municipal, regional, Indigenous, provincial, or federal contexts.
  • Thorough understanding of the public procurement process.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to boards, councils, and the public considered an asset.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of capital project delivery models, including design-build, progressive design-build, construction management, design-bid-build, integrated project delivery, and P3.
  • A university degree or diploma in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is preferred.
  • P.Eng. designation is considered an asset.

Compensation: The approximate base salary range for this role is $75,000 CAD to $110,000 CAD. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location, reflecting the minimum and maximum target for new hire base salaries. Individual pay is influenced by work location and various factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Annual bonus opportunities are in addition to base salary.
