Job Title: Lead Environment Artist

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Lead Environment Artist to join our team at Electronic Arts. As a key member of our art team, you will be responsible for leading a team of environment artists to deliver high-quality environments for our games.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Art Directors to develop and implement environment art strategies.
  • Lead a team of environment artists to deliver environments that meet quality and technical standards.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of environment art workflows, including asset placement, production, level creation, photogrammetry, and PBR texturing.
  • Work closely with project managers to determine budget, project scope, and deadlines.
  • Provide guidance and feedback to team members to ensure they are meeting their goals and developing their skills.
  • Refine and review environments delivered from external sources to ensure they meet our quality standards.
  • Collaborate with leads across disciplines to create environments that meet technical requirements and are visually appealing.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members to ensure efficient workflow and productivity.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3+ years of experience leading an environment art team.
  • Shipped 1 or more AAA games on multiple platforms.
  • Strong artistic eye with the ability to get the best out of team members through feedback and support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a propensity for building relationships across seniority levels.
  • Ability to manage workload through planning and delegation without direction.
  • Proficient knowledge of Maya, Substance Painter, and/or other 2D/3D software packages.
  • Deep knowledge of environment production process with an interest in collaborating with stakeholders to improve the way we work.
