Lead Environment Artist

Cloud Chamber is seeking an exceptional Lead Environment Artist to join our creative team and contribute to the development of BioShock's Creative Vision.

As a key member of our team, you will lead a group of environment artists in creating high-quality level art and world-building that aligns with our game's unique style and vision.

With a strong background in environmental art and leadership experience, you will be responsible for guiding your team to deliver outstanding results within tight deadlines and optimization constraints.

You will work closely with the Art Director, Associate Art Director, and other Leads to ensure artistic unity across the game, and collaborate with Design and Narrative Leads to create immersive and believable environments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the day-to-day activities of the World Environment Art Team
  • Mentoring and helping with career development of assigned team members
  • Creating and managing asset lists in collaboration with internal partner teams
  • Coordinating workflow, supporting interdisciplinary communication, and facilitating efficient and effective building of the game world

Requirements:

  • 5 or more years of experience in internal game development with an emphasis on environmental art or level architecture
  • At least 2 shipped titles, one shipped title in a leadership capacity
  • Prior experience leading other artists and managing their goal-setting and performance
  • Proficiency in 3D Studio Max / Maya, ZBrush, Substance, Photoshop, etc.
  • Recent use of industry-standard game editors (UE5/UE4 preferable)
  • Experience with industry-standard asset management tools
  • Classic drawing or painting techniques with the ability to sketch out ideas on paper
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Outstanding problem-solving abilities and capable of developing or optimizing new or existing pipelines
