Job Summary

The Behaviour Consultant will provide clinical assessment and treatment recommendations through a comprehensive behavioural approach. This role will require the candidate to design, implement and monitor skill promotion and behaviour intervention programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement behaviour intervention programs for individuals with developmental disabilities and other special populations.
  • Provide clinical assessment and treatment recommendations to individuals, families, and caregivers.
  • Design and implement training programs for mediators, staff, and community agencies on behaviour management principles and procedures.
  • Evaluate and improve the effectiveness of behaviour intervention programs.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement behaviour plans.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Psychology or related field.
  • Valid Ontario driver's license and a vehicle for travel throughout York Region and/or Simcoe County.
  • Current clinical experience and knowledge of behaviour therapy, including developmental disabilities and positive sexuality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Proven attendance record.
  • Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
  • Effectively uses empathy in interactions with others.
  • Models behaviour consistent with Mackenzie Health's Commitment to Caring.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in French.
