About the Role

Pattar Excavating Inc. is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. As an Excavation Specialist, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment such as backhoe excavators and loaders in a variety of construction environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Heavy Equipment: Safely operate backhoe excavators, loaders, and other heavy equipment to perform excavation and construction tasks.
  • Interpret Blueprints and Specifications: Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to plan methods or sequences of operation.
  • Conduct Pre-Operational Checks: Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Complete Onboard and Other Logs: Complete onboard and other logs to track equipment usage and maintenance.
  • Prepare Accident Reports: Prepare accident reports as needed.
  • Operate Communication Equipment: Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment to stay in touch with team members.
Work Environment

As a Heavy Equipment Operator with Pattar Excavating Inc., you will work outdoors in a variety of construction environments, including demolition and excavation sites.

Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, attention to detail, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
