Your Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety and Environment Advisor to join our team at the National Research Council of Canada (NRC). As a key member of our Health, Safety and Environment Branch, you will play a critical role in supporting our research centres and corporate branches in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance and advice to management and employees on health, safety, and environmental matters, including the interpretation and application of relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Develop and implement effective health, safety, and environmental programs and procedures to prevent injuries, illnesses, and environmental harm.
  • Conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to develop and implement health, safety, and environmental strategies and plans.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as science, engineering, or industrial hygiene.
  • Significant experience in health, safety, and environmental management, preferably in a research or industrial setting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
