Job Title: Health, Safety and Environment Advisor

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety and Environment Advisor to join our team at the National Research Council Canada. As a key member of our Health, Safety and Environment Branch, you will play a critical role in supporting our research centres and corporate branches in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and advice on occupational health and safety matters to management and employees.
  • Develop and implement health and safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and investigations into workplace incidents and accidents.
  • Collaborate with site and client partners to implement hazard prevention programs and ensure effective communication.
  • Participate in the development of HSE strategies and goals, and contribute to the implementation of action plans.
  • Work with clients to identify and provide adequate HSE resources, including training and personal protective equipment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or industrial hygiene, or equivalent experience.
  • Significant experience in occupational health and safety, preferably in a scientific, engineering, or industrial work environment.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to interpret health and safety legislation and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent interpersonal and client-focused skills.
