About the Role

Ranovus, a leading provider of next-generation data center infrastructure solutions, is seeking an experienced Advanced Packaging Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex sub-assemblies, components, and packaging for our high-volume Optical Engine manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design and develop complex sub-assemblies, components, and packaging as assigned, utilizing SolidWorks CAD software.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and implement changes to product design and/or the manufacturing process to achieve efficiency, quality, and/or cost improvements.
  • Requirements Specification: Develop requirement specifications, system concepts, and detail drawings for complex assemblies and parts.
  • Customer Support: Provide customer product design engineering for economic production and participate in meetings with customers.
  • Material and Tooling Selection: Assess proper material, tooling, automation, and equipment selection for manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Work with manufacturing to troubleshoot problems, upgrades, retrofits, set-ups, methods development, and the development of process parameters.
  • Product Development Meetings: Participate in product development meetings and make recommendations to product design changes to enhance manufacturing and assembly.
  • Testing and Validation: Conduct proof of concept experiments and design other testing requirements as needed.
  • Standard Operating Procedures: Develop SOPs, operations, and maintenance manuals for manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Research and Development: Research new technology or development tools to remain informed of current technology.
  • Lean Six Sigma: Understand Lean Six Sigma tools, projects, and processes and incorporate these into assigned engineering projects.
  • Project Review: Review completed projects for accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure projects are compliant with all local, regional, and national regulatory requirements, codes, and controls.
  • Company Safety and Quality Programs: Support all company safety and quality programs and initiatives.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5-10 years of solid experience in related work, including experience with Photonic, Laser, and ASIC components and micro-assembly.
  • Skills: Excellent ability to solve technical, scientific, and experimental problems, as well as excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Education: Master's or PhD preferred in a related engineering discipline.
