Position Overview

Join our dedicated team at Robin's Nest Early Childhood Education Centre as a Child Development Assistant. This role is vital in fostering the growth and development of young children in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Collaborate with early childhood educators to create and implement engaging programs that enhance children's physical, cognitive, emotional, and social skills.
  • Supportive Role: Assist educators in executing activities that promote holistic development, ensuring each child receives the attention they need.
  • Record Keeping: Help maintain accurate records of children's progress and behavior, providing essential feedback to educators and parents.
  • Creative Engagement: Encourage children's creativity through various mediums such as art, music, and play, fostering an environment of exploration.
  • Daily Activities: Guide children in developing essential life skills, including healthy eating, dressing, and personal hygiene.
  • Snack Preparation: Prepare nutritious snacks and organize spaces for meal and rest times.
  • Observation: Monitor children's behavior for any signs of learning or behavioral challenges, and report findings to the appropriate staff.
  • Collaboration: Build strong relationships with colleagues and community service providers to support children's needs.
  • Environment Maintenance: Ensure a safe and healthy environment that promotes the well-being of all children.
  • Supervision: Oversee the activities of other educators and assistants, ensuring a cohesive team approach.
Qualifications
  • Certifications: Hold current certifications in Emergency Child Care First Aid and CPR, along with First Aid and CPR Certificates.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with children, particularly those with special needs, is an asset.
