Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Design and implement engaging child-care programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our students, promoting their physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
  • Leadership and Guidance: Lead activities, tell stories, teach songs, and take children on educational outings to foster a love for learning and exploration.
  • Record Keeping: Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in maintaining accurate records, ensuring the well-being and progress of our students.
  • Encouraging Creativity: Support children in expressing their creativity through various mediums, such as art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity.
  • Health and Safety: Establish and maintain a safe and healthy environment, adhering to licensing regulations and guidelines.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Establish and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, community service providers, and parents, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Staff Meetings: Participate in regular staff meetings to discuss student progress, address concerns, and share best practices.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education: College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent in Early Childhood Education.
  • Experience: Previous experience in early childhood education is an asset.
  • Certifications: Member of the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE), Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, and CPR Certificate.
  • Security and Safety: Vulnerable sector check, immunization records, and a criminal record check.
  • Transportation: Own transportation is required, with public transportation available.
  • Work Conditions: Repetitive tasks, physically demanding, attention to detail, and a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Personal Suitability: Punctuality, dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, flexibility, interpersonal awareness, judgement, reliability, team player, values and ethics, creativity, and honesty.
