Job Summary

The Electrical Technician role is a critical position within our production team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our electrical systems and equipment. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement predictive and preventative maintenance programs to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Initiate and execute production maintenance projects, including electrical upgrades and improvements, to optimize equipment performance.
  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical, electronic equipment, and instrumentation, as well as computerized systems, to ensure seamless production operations.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues using specialized testing equipment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Provide training and coaching to colleagues on equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall efficiency and productivity.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Ontario Industrial Electrician license (442A) or Construction and Maintenance Electrician License (309A) is required for this role. Apotex will consider candidates who expect to be licensed within 3 months.
  • Experience troubleshooting electronic and electrical control systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Electronics or Electro-Mechanical Technician or Technologist Diploma is an asset.
  • Programming and troubleshooting experience with Allen Bradley SLC500 Programmable Logic Controllers using RS Logix500 software is a definite asset.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and willingness to learn new skills.
