About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Culinary Specialist to join our team at Kid's Mondo Childcare Centre Inc. as a key member of our kitchen staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service
    • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods for our children and staff.
    • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Kitchen Operations and Management
    • Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and adherence to health and safety standards.
    • Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
    • Order supplies and equipment, maintaining inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
    • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, providing guidance and support to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
  • Health and Safety
    • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment, adhering to all relevant regulations and standards.
    • Ensure compliance with food safety and handling procedures, minimizing the risk of contamination and illness.
  • Teamwork and Communication
    • Collaborate with other kitchen staff and management to achieve our culinary goals and objectives.
    • Communicate effectively with staff, children, and parents, ensuring their needs are met and expectations are exceeded.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
    • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications and Licenses
    • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
    • Safe Food Handling certificate.
    • Food Safety Certificate.
    • First Aid Certificate.
    • CPR Certificate.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Dependability, flexibility, and initiative.
    • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a positive attitude.
