Indigenous Wellness Liaison

Northern Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Indigenous Wellness Liaison to join our team. As a key member of our North West Specialized Substance Use Stabilization Service department, you will work collaboratively with interprofessional teams to provide trauma-informed, culturally safe substance use stabilization services to Indigenous individuals.
Key Responsibilities- Provide assessment, crisis intervention, and follow-up services to Indigenous persons and their identified supports.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate and provide services that promote stability, recovery, and wellness.
- Develop and maintain a caseload, ensuring that services are delivered in a compassionate and responsible manner.
- Integrate concurrent treatment with the tasks of other team members, promoting a cohesive and effective team approach.
- Bachelor's Degree in an Allied Health, Behavioral, or Social Science field relevant to the position.
- Two years of recent experience in a health setting working with individuals with complex, concurrent disorders.
- Ability to complete initial and ongoing client assessments, using clinical and diagnostic reasoning.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practice, cultural safety, harm reduction approaches, stages of change, motivational interviewing, CBT, and solutions-based therapy.
- Ability to teach clients and others, both one-on-one and in groups.
- Effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to integrate and evaluate pertinent data to problem-solve and make decisions effectively.
