Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Legal Assistant to support a senior partner at a prestigious law firm. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Corporate Commercial or Financial Services law and demonstrate a proactive approach to managing a busy workload.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, draft, edit, and finalize closing agendas and all necessary transactional documents related to lending and corporate transactions.
  • Organize and monitor the delivery of closing documents.
  • Draft renewal agreements for lending transactions.
  • Prepare annual resolutions and compile Record Books.
  • Communicate professionally with internal and external clients.
  • Proofread and verify documents for accuracy.
  • Diarize and track critical deadlines.
  • Produce high-quality work while managing a significant volume of daily administrative tasks.
  • Handle accounting-related duties and ensure accountability for all assigned work.
  • Arrange meetings and manage calendars efficiently.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Legal Assistant in Financial Services or Corporate Law.
  • Successful completion of a relevant post-secondary Legal Assistant or Law Clerk program.
  • Familiarity with document comparison software such as Workshare Compare.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple demands effectively.
Skills Required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including document creation and formatting.
  • Experience with iManage and DocuSign.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
