Oversee Merchandising Partnerships:
Facilitate regular discussions with each Business Unit to ensure ongoing progress in maximizing EmpireCo's potential.
Comprehend the strategy of each Business Unit while respecting their unique differentiators.
Manage the essentials of sourcing and supplier engagement activities, including RFx, spend pattern analysis, contract evaluation, bid assessment, negotiations, and supplier consolidation.
Conduct business reviews with stakeholders to assess supplier performance, explore future opportunities, and address challenges.Maintain awareness and management of initiative-based business unit expenditures concerning third-party engagements, creating P&L and cost avoidance recognized by the organization.
Implement the strategic plan for all National Supplier contracts/agreements:Collaborate with all Business Units to define objectives prior to entering supplier negotiations.
Conduct and oversee national negotiations for the collective needs of Empire Co. Business Units, responsibly leveraging national volume/activity potential to reduce product costs and ensure alignment with company strategies.
Achieve key performance indicators that will serve as the foundation for negotiations and facilitate continuous improvement.
Drive alignment across business units to capitalize on our scale with suppliers.
Utilize qualitative feedback from Business Units to enhance Empire Co. performance.
Investigate supplier business aspects (pricing trends, market constraints, regulatory issues, etc.).
Become an expert in the respective category's commodity area, relating strategic commodity opportunities by understanding cost-supply components, projected market fluctuations, weather impacts, quality status, and freight implications.
Lead effective contract negotiations that align with Empire Co. Business Unit strategies while maximizing revenue.
Ensure supplier compliance with Empire Co. policies and procedures.
Regularly revisit performance and identify issues early to prevent future conflicts.
Enhance the visibility of Empire Co.'s purchasing power within the national supplier community.
Skills in integrating quantitative and qualitative information to draw accurate conclusions.
~ Naturally seeks to leverage and/or integrate market data, spend analytics, and cost modeling.
~ Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
~ Experience in Project Management.
