About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Legal Claims Assistant II to join our growing team at Intact Financial Corporation

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to our lawyers, including scheduling meetings, drafting correspondence, and preparing pleadings.
  • Implement an effective diary system to manage the lawyer's practice and ensure timely deadlines are met.
  • Partner with assigned lawyers to manage workflow, schedule appearances, and monitor calendars.
  • Support clients in scheduling appointments, exchanging information, and communicating case progress.
  • Review and manage documents using software programs, ensuring electronic filing is up to date.
  • Provide support to assistants, clerks, lawyers, and management as needed.
  • Proficiency in dictation with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments by participating in educational opportunities.

Requirements:

  • College diploma from a legal office administration or law clerk program, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in insurance defence litigation.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong document management skills and ability to learn Intact's software programs.
  • Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize tasks with a disciplined approach to work.
  • Excellent communication, listening, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a team or independently, exercise sound judgment, and take initiative.
  • Working knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure.
