Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Planning and Analysis Manager to join our team at Royal Bank of Canada. As a key member of our Global Asset Management Finance team, you will play a critical role in supporting the planning, forecasting, analysis, and reporting of our financial results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of our financial results in our financial systems, including PeopleSoft and EPM.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, bank reconciliations, and supporting schedules as required.
  • Contribute to the monitoring, analysis, and reporting of our financial results, including ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the results.
  • Participate in fulfilling both internal and external audit requirements by providing supporting schedules and responding to auditor inquiries as required.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly head office schedules as required, including PEGA G/L attestations, AUM, net sales, and other relevant financial data.
  • Calculate and prepare quarterly financial summaries for the Canadian Institutional business, including RSP compensation program calculations.
  • Play an active role in the RBC GAM annual plan, 5-year outlook, and financial forecasts, preparing supporting schedules as required.
  • Prepare NIE variance analysis, FTE analysis, vendor analysis, and other schedules as required.
Requirements
  • Accounting designation with several years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Extensive experience with the Microsoft Office suite of products, with a focus on Excel, including the use of pivot tables.
  • Effective organizational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently, and collaborate with a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and make recommendations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with EPM, Cognos, and PeopleSoft accounting/reporting systems.
  • Financial services industry experience, particularly in asset or wealth management.
  • Strategic thinking and excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functions and businesses.
