Position: Project Portfolio Director

Key Responsibilities:
  1. The Project Portfolio Director is responsible for overseeing the overall performance of the portfolio and ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  2. Coordinates the team regarding resource allocation, monitors and controls project performance, and reports on the overall portfolio performance.
  3. Drive project execution and controlling until contract closure, supporting the team with a focus on:
  • Managing performance, costs, schedule, quality, and risks & opportunities mitigation actions.
  • Managing interface with key customers, ensuring customer satisfaction for the project(s).
  • Understanding product development dependencies.
  • Implementing a solid and comprehensive EAC process, sales and cash forecasts, and risks & opportunities management.
  • Following Group processes, methods, tools, and practices to deliver projects.
  • Monitoring the performance of different activities in all work packages.
Ensuring lessons learned and driving project execution towards continuous improvement, including direct contribution to Transformation plans and execution of postmortem project lessons learned.Managing URS Project Management resources in their project(s), ensuring their optimum competence, development, satisfaction, supporting the Company's footprints and SBP business goals.Ensuring the development and training of project skills and expertise to ensure that the required level is achieved and sustained.To possess the ability to share vision and demonstrate direction from a leadership perspective, fostering a single path for the project team in their project(s), and showing strength with compassion by creating an environment where the project team is motivated and focused on objectives.To display strong communication skills ensuring clarity with senior management, key customers, and the project teams of their projects.Key Requirements:
  1. Degree or Diploma from either a Business or Technical background.
  2. 10+ years of experience working in railway transportation industry or from similar industry Technical/Aerospace field/etc.
  3. 10 to 15+ years as a Project Manager with People Management / Leadership experience.
  4. Previous experience leading international projects in a matrix environment.
  5. Excellent communication skills.
  6. Being able to deliver under pressure.
  7. PMP or IPMA certification.
  8. Located in GTA area.
  9. Excellent English skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Engineering Degree a plus.
