About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Registration and Scheduling Coordinator to join our team at IWK Health Centre. As a key member of our administrative staff, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our patient booking and registration processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete patient booking and scheduling tasks with accuracy and efficiency
  • Participate in patient registration and ensure all necessary information is collected and processed
  • Answer telephone and email inquiries, providing accurate and timely responses to patients and staff
  • Prepare and distribute daily schedules, patient charts, and other administrative documents
  • Manage inventory of supplies and place orders as needed
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and staff
Requirements
  • Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
  • Graduate from a recognized office administration diploma program preferred
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, an asset
  • Demonstrated accurate keyboarding and data entry skills, required
  • Basic knowledge of computer programs, including email and MS Word, required
  • Working knowledge of office equipment, required
  • Demonstrated strong time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills, required
  • Demonstrated excellent organization skills, strong communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills, required
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workloads, required
  • Demonstrated initiative; self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision/direction, required
  • Demonstrated high regard for quality, accuracy, and attention to detail, required
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others and in an interprofessional team, required
  • Demonstrated flexibility to meet workload demands, required
  • Excellent judgment and discretion in handling confidential and/or sensitive information, required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in patient scheduling/booking, preferred
  • Experience with Community Wide Scheduling (CWS), an asset
  • Competency in other languages, an asset; French & Arabic preferred
