Key Responsibilities
As a Community Support Advocate, you will operate under the guidance of the Operations Manager, focusing on the following:

  • Providing essential physical care, including meal planning and preparation, medication management, personal hygiene assistance, and daily living activities.
  • Facilitating day-to-day household management and maintaining accurate records.
  • Encouraging and supporting individuals in engaging with their families, friends, and community to enhance their comfort, safety, and health.
  • Empowering clients to develop their skills and abilities, fostering independence and control over their lives.

Qualifications for Success
To thrive in this role, candidates should possess:

  • Experience working with adults facing intellectual and mental health challenges.
  • Knowledge of supporting individuals with substance use issues.
  • A valid certification in emergency first aid and CPR.
  • A clear Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector, Adult Abuse, and Child Abuse Registry, conducted within the last three months.
  • A minimum of a Grade Twelve education, with preference for post-secondary qualifications such as a Developmental Service Worker Certificate or Health Care Aide certification, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with excellent organizational abilities and the capacity to work effectively in a team setting.
