Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to support our Real Estate team at Pet Supermarket. The successful candidate will have a strong background in paralegal work, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced corporate environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Service of Process and legal invoices accurately and timely
  • Facilitate business license renewals and annual trademark filings/renewals
  • Track legal contracts and manage Legal Tracker and Co-Star
  • Provide legal support for the Real Estate team
  • Coordinate special event approvals with external parties
  • Assist in the negotiation of procurement contracts
  • Update and maintain Legal Tracker and Co-Star property management databases
  • Prepare and update lease abstracts in Co-Star
  • Coordinate with intellectual property counsel to monitor and protect trademarks and trade names
  • Manage intake of service of process and subpoenas
  • Manage responses to property management issues
  • Manage store licensing compliance issues
  • Prepare estoppel certificates and SNDA's
  • Track sales kicks and renewals, and manage the termination process
  • Communicate with landlords on repair issues
  • Facilitate business license renewals and annual registrations
  • Manage and track contracts and report relevant deadlines
  • Complete a broad variety of projects for Real Estate, Legal Department, and Risk Management
  • Manage legal communications between departments
  • Request and log insurance certificates from vendors
  • Update legal files and corporate records
Requirements
  • Paralegal Certificate required
  • Associate's degree required, Bachelor's preferred
  • 7+ years' experience supporting senior leaders, preferably in Real Estate
  • Experience in a fast-paced corporate environment and proven ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading
  • Ability to flex schedule for occasional weekend or evening work
  • Experience working in a retail legal department a plus
